Dig Deep Gold Prospecting Tours offers a structured 2-day educational and hands-on gold prospecting experience designed to give participants real knowledge, confidence, and practical skills they can use well beyond the tour itself.

Our focus is not just on finding gold for the day, but on teaching how to research, understand ground, and put yourself onto potential gold-bearing country safely and responsibly.

Day 1 – Classroom & Theory (Kalgoorlie)

Day 1 is a classroom-based learning day held in Kalgoorlie, designed to build a strong foundation before heading into the field.

Topics covered include (but are not limited to):

  • Bush safety and Goldfields risk awareness
  • Understanding gold geology and indicators
  • Faults, shear zones, contact points, and structural controls
  • Patch hunting theory

Research tools and how to use them effectively, including:

  • Trilobite
  • Detector Maps
  • GeoView
  • Tengraph
  • WAMEX

How to identify and assess prospective ground

Planning your own future prospecting trips with confidence
Catering:

Lunch and drinks are provided on Day 1, with tea and coffee available throughout the day.

Day 2 – Field Detecting Experience

Day 2 is spent out in the field on gold-proven ground, where participants put Day 1’s theory into practice.
What to expect:

  • Full day of detecting on proven gold-bearing ground
  • Detector setup and settings assistance (where required)
  • Ongoing guidance and support from experienced prospecting guides
  • Help identifying target signals versus ground noise

Real-world application of research and patch-hunting concepts
Catering:

  • Participants must bring their own lunch and water on Day 2.
  • Spare water will be carried if required.

Requirements & Conditions

To ensure safety and compliance, the following conditions apply:

  • Bring your own 4WD vehicle
  • Bring your own gold detector
  • A valid Miner’s Right is required
  • No participants under 18 years of age

Equipment & Safety

  • UHF 2-way radios will be supplied to all participants
  • A $300 replacement fee applies for any lost or damaged radio

All tours operate with safety as a priority, including clear communication and risk management procedures
